Harvest time

Late September and early October is business time on Snipes Mountain. The days start at midnight, with the lights of the picker peering eerily over the rows of vines. The hum of tractor motors surrounds you in the dark distance, and you see crate upon crate of grapes loaded onto trucks in the night, so shipments of grapes will arrive at their destined wineries at daybreak. It’s a hectic time, but in the span of several weeks workers will harvest the bounty of nearly a year’s work on Snipes Mountain.

As the seasons change, the scenery on Snipes Mountain becomes spectacular with red, gold and green on every hillside. Have a look at the scenery from this past autumn.
